Scripture… As We Live It #59
Here is the 59th passage in “Scripture… As We Live It“:
But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and with his wife’s knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds (Acts 5:1-2 re-mix)
No changes required… we live by this one fairly consistently.

Ooooooohhhhhhhhh snap! Alan, don’t pull any punches at all with that one! Funnily enough I was reflecting on the run up to this episode in the last verses of chapter 4 and what that has to say about Christian community. Still, ouch for hitting home with that re-mix!
1The moral of that story is that it was his wife’s fault.
2When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and breathed his last. And great fear came upon all who heard of it. (Acts 5:5 ESV)
The story doesn’t end well. Not at all.
