The Assembling of the Church

And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.
(Heb. 10:24-25 NASB)

Church or Churches?

March 28, 2006 By: Alan Knox Category: scripture

Lately I’ve been studying the openings and closings of Paul’s letters, especially his greetings. These short passages contain fascinating information concerning the early church – especially its meeting practice and interdependence. For example, there are various “church” groups mentioned in the greetings of Romans chapter 16. Also, if Colossians and Philemon are related – as many believe they are – then there are interesting interactions between the different groups in Colossae. I hope to present a list of the different groups that I’ve found shortly.
